What is Sclerotherapy treatment?

Injecting a medication that that causes the vein to collapse & disappear.

The procedure is rather very simple and does not require local or regional anesthesia. There is no pain involved in the procedure, as the needles used are very fine.

Most of the time, it is better to use compression therapy for 24 hours after the procedure but that is not strictly necessary. There is no down time after the procedure; patients are encouraged to walk with compression dressing.

One downside of the procedure is the injected vein might include discoloration for a few weeks before it starts to fade away. On occasion, this process lasts a few months.
